The Little Beaver Creek Ranch
The Little Beaver Creek Ranch has a rich history, originally homesteaded by Joseph and Ida Hartman, associates of the renowned artist, Charles M. Russell. Joe Hartman was the Sherriff for Sanders County, then considered the wild west. The ranch was once a lumber mill and next an outfitting operation. The Little Beaver Creek Ranch even was once home to The Little Beaver Creek Schoolhouse, still standing albeit showing her age as would a nearly one hundred year old teacher. Oh, if only she could tell tales of her past..
The Little Beaver Creek Ranch, now 85+- acres of useable irrigated land, is bound on the west for over 1/2 mile by Little Beaver Creek, with the Lolo National Forest near. The current owners have used the property for equestrian ambitions, with their daughter's showmanship having earned many awards. The Leibers reluctantly part with the ranch with ambitions of a life involving more travel and less responsibility. They've enjoyed every minute however, and hope that you'll create as many fond memories as they'll take with them.
An Equestrian Lover's Indulgence ...
The ranch includes several water claims on Little Beaver Creek, including the priority claim dating back to 1891. The fields on the north end are sub-irrigated and produce on average, 150 tons of hay per year. Little Beaver Creek holds brown, brook and cuttthroat trout for your fishing pleasure. It is a year-around stream providing water to many species of waterfowl, resident elk, moose, deer & much more wildlife.
